2025 Nelson College Softball Prospect Camp

 

The Nelson University College Softball Prospects Camp is designed for High School and Junior College softball players that want to work directly with Nelson University coaches on the field. The event is for those players who are focused on becoming prospective student-athletes and want to showcase their skills. The camp will feature verbal evaluations and feedback provided by Nelson University’s coaching staff through the instructional process, as well as a discussion on the process of working towards a college softball opportunity at Nelson University. The Camp will feature instruction on the latest metrics and standards at the college level. The college coaches on site will instruct players through these measurables and provide feedback on how to improve.

SCHEDULE
  • Pitchers and catchers report at 9:00am.
  • All the other campers at 9:30am.
  • Camp will end at noon followed by a quick Q&A.
  • Optional campus tour to follow possibly around 1:00

*All campers will be numbered so the coaches can identify each player.

ALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE

  • Personal evaluation from all coaches attending the event.
  • Feedback on Hitting, Throwing, Running, and Defense (by position).
  • Opportunities to ask questions about their skills and get to know Nelson University’s coaches.
  • An open discussion about the NAIA and Nelson University recruiting process, rules, and regulations (parents are encouraged to participate in this discussion).

EVALUATION & INSTRUCTION

  • Evaluations will be provided from the coaches during and around the instructional process. Because we focus on a high level of player-coach interaction we highly recommend that players ask for any specific evaluations they may want during the event.  

DISCUSSION FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENT ATHLETES

  • This portion of the event is open to all registered participants and parents. It will cover various topics relative to the college experience, NAIA recruiting process and rules along with an open Q and A for parents and players to get information straight from coaches.

The camp is open to all High School and Junior College softball players. This camp complies with all NAIA rules.
